Gay & Sober believes in celebrating the transgender recovery community.

We will continue to develop and host events for the entire LGBTQIA community

in New York on Pride Sunday and Halloween,

Fire Island, London, Amsterdam, and Tennessee.

The GSM+ conference in NYC from Thursday to Saturday has evolved

to serve all LGBTQ people in recovery.

ACTIONS WE ARE PROUD OF:

In May of 2023, the Gay & Sober board of directors parted ways from one executive board member named Landon and a committee member named Ron S. because of anti-trans rhetoric and positions expressed by said individuals.

- Since our inception, Gay & Sober has had a zero tolerance policy for anything anti-trans - whether it is from team members or participants.

- We celebrate and honor the transgender recovery community on social media and by publishing news-worthy pieces relevant to the trans community on our public Facebook page.

- In 2017 at our innaugural workshop on advocacy and activism, our workshop leader was political activist Melissa S., from the transgender community in NYC.

- We have brought on two trans individuals to the committee in 2023 and 2024/2025 service season. In 2023 we promoted Sandy G. to the Program Team. In 2024 we promoted Kris to the Registration Team.

- In 2025, one of our speakers at the GSM+ conference is a transgender individual, Kris D.

- In March of 2025, we opened up one of our long-standing men-only events to all members of the LGBTQ recovery community.
